Company Offers Glow in the Dark Toilet Paper

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Forget about a night light for those in the middle of the night bathroom trips. British gift company Thumbs Up has developed glow-in-the-dark toilet paper to shed some light in the bathroom while you do your business.

“Perfect for power cuts, this groovy glowing loo roll means that if you don’t want to wake anyone up in your household by turning on the light, it’ll cast its green glow over your bathroom, so you can find your way around,” stated the company’s Web site .

The Telegraph reports that the roll of toilet paper look normal during the day, but gives off a fluorescent glow when the lights are off.

Product development employee Daniel Blackman invented the paper.

The paper is able to glow due to phosphors, which keeps the glow going after it has been exposed to energized particles such as light from a light bulb or the sun.

But don’t expect to pay the everyday price for toilet paper: this special roll costs around $8 each reports UPI.com .

California outdoors web site themightysparrow.com reviewed it and said, “…this would have some practical applications in the backpacking world.” No flashlight needed in the woods.

The tech and gadgets web site for women chipchick.com believes it is “the most useful glow-in-the-dark product ever.” The site also comments on camping trips too, advising readers to pack a couple of rolls to take with you in the “cold dark woods.”

The glow-in-the-dark toilet paper will match nicely for those who also have a glow-in-the-dark toilet seat.
