Who Is Siobhan Magnus?

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - American Idol hopeful Siobhan Magnus, fresh out of high school musical productions and a local Cape Cod, Mass., band, earned one of the coveted golden tickets to Hollywood Week.

Magnus, 19, graduated from Barnstable High School where she sang in the chorus and appeared in drama productions such as "Barnum," "Fiddler on the Roof" and "The Wizard of Oz," according to The Barnstable Patriot .

The 2008 graduate said she sang for the first time in front of people in fourth grade while auditioning for a spring concert. Her song of choice was "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow" from the musical "Annie."

MJ's BigBlog gave a peek into her high school life, saying that she has a disabled father and a mother who works in retail. As the oldest child she became responsible for her younger siblings.

She sometimes had to skip rehearsals and took her younger sisters to rehearsal with her as she called her extra-curricular activities an "escape" from real life.

Her story was captured in a WB Web-only reality show called "High Drama: Against All Oz," in which cameras captured a production of "The Wizard of Oz" at the high school. The series debuted on Oct. 8, 2008, according to BigBlog.

Magnus also sang in the band Lunar Valve with friends Ralph Bousquet, Matt Kohler and Jordan Bonina.

Celebrity Web site The Hollywood Gossip reported that she is a glass-blowing apprentice and enjoys scary movies.

Magnus auditioned in Boston, Mass. She grew up in Hyannis, Mass.
