Who Is Jose Munoz?

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Jose Munoz will not be moving on to the Top 10 men's group, he was bounced from the competition Thursday night.

This was the second try at Idol fame for Jose Munoz.

The 20-year-old Huntington Park, Calif., singer tried out during American Idol season eight, but his second try earned him a golden ticket to American Idol's Hollywood week as one of the Top 24 semi-finalists.

Munoz's Idol profile states that he started singing at the age of 12 while attending middle school in Guaymas, Mexico.

"My music teacher made me sing," he said.

Pop culture site Pop on the Pop reports that Munoz, 20, sings in both English and Spanish. He also plays the guitar. And according to Idol Chatter , he would like to sing in Spanish on Idol.

Munoz graduated from Universidad de Sonora in Sonora, Mexico, in 2009.

He auditioned in Los Angeles, Calif., with Michael Jackson's song "Man in the Mirror". Idol Chatter reported that Munoz believes his laid-back attitude may help him compete.

"I just let things happen and cope with it," he said.

Entertainment blog Starmometer reports that Munoz's favorite female singer is Celine Dion and his favorite male singer is Michael Bublé.

He said that he has had no formal singing training.
