Miss Vampirella Crowned at Vampire-Con

HOLLYWOOD - Vampirella's Ball was the culmination of the first-ever Vampire-Con -- a three-day event which celebrated all that relates to those who drink blood and live forever.

The scantily-clad Vampirella is best-known as a comic book title that centered on the vamp's "quest to fight off demons on earth," said one impersonator to MyFoxLA.com/Fox 11 News . In honor of the 40th anniversary of the comic book debut, a Miss Vampirella contest was held to crown the queen of the undead.

But what exactly does it take to be Miss Vampirella? According to this year's winner, Nella Swan, it's "a certain attitude, creativity, strength and beauty."

The convention included celebrity panels and discussions as well as a real-life blood drive for the Red Cross.
