BECKLEY -
Three men were sentenced in Beckley today for their roles in a Medicare fraud scheme.
Father and son, 63-year-old Charles Gwinn and 34-year-old Eric Gwinn and a former employee, 61-year-old Thomas Binetti were each sentenced to 5 months in prison and fined $5,000.
Prosecutors say the Gwinns and Binetti falisified documents and presented false information about patients to receive payments from Medicare.
Binetti and Eric Gwinn worked as salesmen for Group II Medical Supports in Beckley. Charles Gwinn was one of the company owners at the time.
Federal officials say the scheme went on from 1998 to 2004.
